World Family Doctor Day 2024

On World Family Doctor Day, the Guyana Family Medicine Residency Program - residents and faculty, held a wonderful celebration at the Georgetown Public Hospital on May 20th, 2024.

There, Dr. Mirza I. Rahman, M.D., M.P.H. Rahman from the GDC was able to join with Dr. Tamica Daniels-Williamson, the Guyana Family Medicine Residency Director, and the residents to interact with staff, patients, and other physicians who came in and out of the hospital, in talking about the specialty of Family Medicine and its importance in the context of delivering high quality primary health care in Guyana.

The “Cs” of Family Medicine are that they are the physicians you typically go to for first contact with the health system. Family Physicians provide competent, compassionate, comprehensive, continuous, & coordinated care, to help you and your family live longer, happier, & healthier lives.
